FEES

Intracoastal provides a wide range of services and, depending on the project, the fee agreement between the client and Intracoastal will be a flat fee or an hourly fee.

FLAT FEE STRUCTURE

HOURLY FEE STRUCTURE

Intracoastal charges a flat fee for one-time or short-term projects such as developing grant-related templates (proposals, cover letters, letters of intent), philanthropic advising, workshops, board retreats, and organizational assessments. After an initial consultation to evaluate your organization’s needs, we will provide a proposal for services that specifies services and fees.

For flat fee assignments with a fee of $3,000 or less, full payment in advance is required. If greater than $3,000, a 50% deposit is required to start work, with the other half due upon release of final materials.

Intracoastal charges an hourly fee for ongoing grant-seeking services starting at $85.00 per hour. A client may want to retain Intracoastal for a particular amount of hours per month for grant-related tasks depending on organizational needs.

We sign a contract stipulating a cap number of hours per month, and invoices and grant activity reports are submitted at the end of each month. Intracoastal also bills clients for postage and printing of standard grant attachments.

ESTIMATED FEES FOR SERVICES

Our services vary for each client, depending on need. For example, a client may determine that they want to retain Intracoastal for 40 hours per month. The cost for that number of hours (not including postage and printing) would be $3,400, which is far less than it would cost your organization to have a full time in-house grant writer. The hours required to complete projects will vary depending on funder guidelines. After templates have been created, 40 hours per month will generally yield anywhere from 6 to 10 outgoing foundation grant proposals per month as well as prospect research and related administration.

It is important to note that government grants are generally far more time consuming than applications to private foundations, and Intracoastal needs adequate lead time to complete these more intensive projects. For these projects a fee is quoted after Intracoastal assesses the application process. Generally, fees for one-time government grants range from $5,000 to $10,000.

Intracoastal does not provide services on a contingency fee basis.
